When
we first started seriously thinking about opening a cloth diaper service in the Shreveport-Bossier City area, we quickly came
to the conclusion that we didn't have the slightest idea what we were doing. So, we decided to randomly choose a diaper
service for a bit of friendly brain-picking.
From that very first call to Liz at Green Baby Diaper Service, in Wilmington, North Carolina, we knew that we wanted to start CottonTails. It wasn’t
anything that Liz said as much as the fact that she—8.9 months pregnant and in the middle of sorting diapers—spoke
to me, a complete stranger, at all.
Since that day it has been confirmed over and over again that those who choose
cloth and support cloth diapering are special. It is a choice to use cloth, and those who do so tend to show levels of patience
and empathy--whether doing so for health concerns or environmental concerns--that truly set them apart. Even if that choice
for many of us is a no-brainer, and even if cloth diapers actually require no more patience than disposables, that does not
lessen the importance of the choice.
